Congratulations to Eyal Hanania on receiving a Research Prize in Data Science

Eyal Hanania is an M.Sc. student jointly supervised by me and Dr. Moti Freiman from the faculty of Biomedical Engineering. His interdisciplinary research involves data sciences with biomedical engineering and clinical understanding. Eyal demonstrated outstanding skills in conducting such interdisciplinary research. His insistence on thoroughly understanding the clinical domain he is working on led to several fundamental contributions in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

I congratulate Eyal on receiving the Student Research Prize for Cross-PI Collaboration in Data Science in the Funding of PBC (VATAT) for 2023-2024.

Welcome to Dr. Amir Ivry for joining our team as a Visiting Lecturer

Amir completed his Ph.D. (direct track) under my supervision in 2023. Amir is currently the Head of Data, Teams CMD, at Microsoft Advanced Technology Labs.

I am happy to announce that Amir is joining our team as a Visiting Lecturer.

His research is focused on hands-free speech communication in noisy, transient, and reverberant environments using deep neural networks. In particular, he develops real-time and low-resource implementations that can be embedded into speech-based hands-free communication platforms. Applications include voice activity detection, residual echo suppression, acoustic echo cancellation, speech enhancement, and acoustic fencing for speech separation.
